Benson Boone Wasn’t a Taylor Swift Fan — Until He Opened for Her

Taylor Swift is everywhere — on stage, climbing the charts, and packing stadiums with thousands of screaming fans. Where she wasn’t? Benson Boone’s playlist — until he landed an opening spot on the Eras Tour.

While chatting with Rolling Stone in an interview published Tuesday, March 11, the 22-year-old pop star admitted he wasn’t exactly a Swiftie before opening for Swift, 35, at London’s Wembley Stadium in June 2024.

“I didn’t even know much about her,” Boone revealed. “Her team reached out, and I literally, like, sh** my pants. I could not believe it. It was insane, so I started listening to more of her music. I didn’t want to go to that show and not know anything.”

But it didn’t take long for the “Beautiful Things” singer to become a fan.

“She is an unbelievable performer and has an unbe­lievable world built around her that is unmatched,” Boone gushed. “There’s a lot of people who don’t like Taylor Swift. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but if you have something against her and you don’t know her, I don’t think that is fair.”

That, however, didn’t sit well with Swifties.

“There’s really not a lot of people who don’t like her…why even say that?! Weirdo,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“Boy must live under a rock,” another pointed out.

“You didn’t know about her, but sh** your pants once her team reached out??” someone else questioned.
