HRT Ford Performance has revealed that Romain Andriolo and Jusuf Owega will form the team’s Pro-class driver pairing for its GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup campaign.
Andriolo and Owega will share the No. 64 Ford Mustang GT3 for the five-round Sprint calendar, which kicks off at Brands Hatch on May 3-4.
Both drivers are also involved in other programs with Haupt Racing Team and the Blue Oval, with factory driver Owega competing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Andriolo, meanwhile, also forms part of the team’s Silver Cup lineup in Endurance Cup. The former single seater racer made his debut with the German squad at January’s Michelin 24H Dubai.
“The GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup is a very demanding competition,” said team CEO Ulrich Fritz.
“Even the smallest of mistakes has a huge impact due to the short race distance.
However, the series also offers a very good opportunity to further develop our drivers and the Ford Mustang GT3 in a challenging environment.
“The competition will be very strong, but our focus at the moment is on establishing ourselves with the Ford Mustang GT3 and completing as many laps as possible.
“If we do a good job, we will certainly be able to achieve some good results during the season.”
HRT is set to field two cars in Sprint Cup this year, with last month’s release of the full season entry list confirming that a second Ford will compete in Silver Cup.
