Fontwell 2:40 Millstone Landscapes Sponsored Raceday Inaugural Race Handicap Chase – 2m5½f (Class 5) (5yo+ 0-100) As expected, there isn’t a great deal of strength and depth on show here, but one who showed that a return to the winner’s enclosure may be imminent is SIR ROCK. He has been in the doldrums since his win over course and distance in January last year, but he sent out a warning shot when taking second place at Huntingdon at the start of the month. That form isn’t shaping up too bad, as the third on the day, Pep Talking, has since gone on to win by four lengths. Sir Rock is now 4 lbs lower than when winning over course and distance, and now that he has hinted that a return to form may be just around the corner, he is worth siding with here. Bet on SIR ROCK with Betfred Fontwell 3:10 Millstone Landscapes Sponsored Raceday Inaugural Race Handicap Chase – 2m5½f (Class 5) (5yo+ 0-100)  There may be ten runners lining up at the start, but the majority of them need to find something more to get off the mark today. The two to concentrate on are Whatsyourproblem, who put in his best performance to date when narrowly denied at EVS at Southwell at the beginning of the month. A reproduction of that run may be enough to get him off the mark, but I want to side with KALIF D’AIRY. The Gary More-trained gelding has filled the runner-up spot in three of his last four starts over hurdles, and that one blemish came last time out where there was no explanation as to what Kalif d’Airy ran well below par when sent off the well backed 13/8F. He has had a small break since then, and now that the Moore yard is back among the winners, Kalif d’Airy doesn’t need to find much more to get off the mark today. Bet on KALIF D’AIRY with SBK Fontwell 3:35 Smith And Western Chase Series Final – 2m3½f (Class 2) (5yo+) Onto the most competitive race on the card, and you can make a valid case for each of the 12 runners. Good Friday Fairy and Diplomatic Ash both come in here in search of a hat trick of wins. Both have their chance, and Diplomatic Ash has already gotten the better of ROYAL MER over course and distance last time out, but the big swing in the weights in favour of the David Pipe-trained 7-year-old swings things in his favour. After a hat trick of wins last season, Royal Mer went from a rating of 101 to 123 but has found it hard to find his form again. He is well-treated on last season’s form, and with the swing in the weight he gets with Diplomatic Ash for a 1/2 length defeat, Royal Mer can take full advantage here. Bet on ROYAL MER with talkSPORT BET Fontwell 4:20 Millstone Landscapes Stuart Wilkins Memorial Race Novices’ Hurdle – 2m5½f (Class 4) (5yo+) This looks like a good opportunity for TOMMY THE TANK to double his winning tally over hurdles. He won by 13 lengths on a maiden hurdles last time out, and the third has already come out and won since. His main rival will come from Authentic Legacy, who is another who broke his maiden tag in a handicap hurdle, and this 5-year-old will receive 7 lbs from Tommy The Tank. But Authentic Legacy, he may find it hard to keep tabs on this enthusiastic front-runner. Tommy The Tanks form stands out when compared to his rivals’ and will prove hard to beat.
