An emo song with banjo! Listen to Arm’s Length’s “You Ominously End”
Arm’s Length also have an upcoming tour with Prince Daddy, Riley!, and Bike Routes, followed by album release shows with Charmer and Wakelee.

An emo song with banjo – you truly love to see it! “You Ominously End” is the second taste of Arm’s Length‘s upcoming sophomore album (and Pure Noise debut) There’s A Whole World Out There and I feel pretty confident calling it one of their best songs yet. With elements of folk punk, heart-on-sleeve emo, and throat-shredding screamo, it’s easy to make comparisons to The Hotelier’s Home, Like Noplace Is There, and nobody’s carrying the torch for that specific type of emo better than Arm’s Length right now. The song finds Arm’s Length singer Allen Steinberg addressing a loved one who survived a suicide attempt, and it’s some of his most goosebump-inducing lyricism to date.
“’You Ominously End’ is about the shame and isolation of dealing with mental illness, especially when you feel unable to check in on loved ones who are also struggling,” says Allen. “When writing this song, I focused on capturing that isolating experience through vivid storytelling. The tragic theme of the song is contrasted by country/folk elements, creating a jarring effect. This contrast makes it one of our personal favorite tracks by Arm’s Length.” Listen and watch the Alex Scalzo-Brown-directed video below.
