Air France-KLM Flying Blue has updated its latest promotional awards for May. These awards are valid for travel through October 31, 2025, and must be booked by the end of this month.

The maximum discount is 25% off the required miles, although the rebate can sometimes be 50%.

You can access Flying Blue’s web page for promotional awards here.

Miles Sales

Flying Blue frequently sells miles with a 100% to 120% bonus. You can check if your account is eligible for any current offers here. You can also subscribe to have miles deposited into your account at a reasonably low monthly price (read more here—and access here).

Remember to use the award calendar to check one month at a time:

Short/Medium Haul

Long-Haul

You can also book these one-way. These are not only for flights originating from Europe, as they are valid for all long-haul destinations in both directions. Flying Blue used to divide Europe into zones 1, 2, and 3 but seems to use the designation EUROPE for all these from now on.

Note that Europe should include all the following countries for long-haul awards:

Europe 1
Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxembourg

Europe 2
Austria, Balearic Islands, Finland, Denmark, Italy, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden

Europe 3
Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Canary Islands, Croatia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Libya, Lithuania, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, Morocco, Poland, Romania, West Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Tunisia, Ukraine.

Flying Blue has changed the taxes and mainly fuel surcharges it collects for award tickets, making economy awards a better deal than they used to be. In addition, the fuel surcharge that Air France-KLM now calls a “carrier-imposed international surcharge” is capped for premium economy, business, and first-class flights.

Conclusion

Flying Blue promotes these economy promo rewards from the US to keep its miles sale and conversion promotions going (and cash flowing in).

There are only three long-haul destinations on sale in business class: Montreal, St. Martin, and Abidjan.

Reward ticket conditions:

No Miles or XP can be earned on reward tickets.

Reward tickets are subject to airport and security taxes and carrier surcharges. These taxes and surcharges are not covered by Miles and must be paid separately.

Only Platinum members can use reward tickets to book in La Premiere (First class). Availability in La Premiere is limited to 1 reward ticket per flight.

You’ll need to contact customer service to book if you are travelling with an infant (under the age of 2) and for minors travelling alone.

Reward tickets are subject to the operating airline’s general conditions of carriage.

Promo rewards are subject to availability. Displayed Miles prices for Long Haul promo destinations are for flights from/to Europe, the lowest possible price from/to any European destination is shown.
