The building blocks of the 2025 box office have been slowly pieced together after a stuttering start for US cinema. Thanks to A Minecraft Movie, that building process has been aptly sped up, with Jared Hess' video game adaptation taking theaters by storm and destroying its box office competition. Already, A Minecraft Movie is the highest-grossing domestic flick of the year by quite some distance, and has edged its way into the line-up of highest-grossing Warner Bros. releases in their global history.
