Zeekr 009 gains Executive variant in Malaysia – FWD; 604 km WLTP EV range; RM310k for first 500 buyers

The Zeekr 009 variant line-up in Malaysia has been expanded to include a new base Executive which joins the existing Luxury and Ultra Luxury. Officially, we’re told the Executive retails for RM310,000 on-the-road without insurance, but this is a special introductory price applicable to the first 500 customers. A “regular” price will be made known after then.

For context, the Luxury is priced at RM349,800, while the Ultra Luxury is RM359,800, which makes the Executive up to RM49,800 cheaper when compared to the latter. However, you will have to make some compromises, starting with the powertrain.

Unlike the other two variants that are all-wheel drive with dual motors rated for 612 PS (603 hp or 450 kW) and 693 Nm of torque, Executive only has a single electric motor at the front making 340 PS (335 hp or 250 kW) and 373 Nm. Unsurprisingly, the 0-100 km/h time of 7.9 seconds is a lot more than the AWD variants’ 4.5 seconds, although the top speed is identical across the board at 210 km/h.

There is an upside to the reduced outputs, and that is range. The Executive uses the same 116-kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery as the AWD variants, enabling a WLTP-rated range of up to 604 km instead of 582 km. AC charging via an 11-kW input will see the battery get from 0-100% in 13.5 hours, while DC fast charging from 10-80% with a 150-kW input needs 30 minutes – the same across the board.

The Executive is a seven-seater like the Luxury and mostly matches it when it comes to equipment. Based on the spec sheet available at the Malaysia Autoshow where Zeekr has a booth, the base variant gets single-chamber air suspension instead of the higher-spec variants’ dual-chamber units. Additionally, the front doors do not have an electronic latch, the steering wheel is manually adjustable instead of powered.

In addition to the Executive variant, the 009 also gains a new exterior colour called Mineral Green that is only available for the Luxury and Ultra Luxury variants. Phantom Black and Crystal White are still offered for the entire range.
