‘Worst year of my life’ – Tommy Fury opens up in emotional interview with comeback imminent
Tommy Fury has opened up about his devastating year as he prepares for his comeback fight in Hungary. He said in a candid and reflective interview on Good Morning Britain: “Yeah 2024 was the worst year of my life. “But this year’s going to be the best year of my life. It starts on Friday, I’ve turned it all around. “I’m happy mentally now, I’ve got to go through these challenges in life. Everyone’s got a hard life. “I’ve come through this, I’m on the other side and I’m back doing what I do best.” Fury also explained how his lack of action in boxing was a tough factor to come to terms with. He continued: “Ever since I’ve been small from five, six, seven, eight, all I’ve ever done is boxed, I’ve never had another job outside of boxing. “Being in a position where boxing is everything, the fact I couldn’t do that and get out of bed in the morning and do what I wanted to do to make me happy, I just thought sod it all. “You go down that dark route and you go down there for a few weeks and you end up staying there for a very long time and that has consequences.” Fury hasn’t fought since 2023Getty Fury has had a torrid time but is now looking forwards with regards to his boxing career.
