Harry Kane could FINALLY win his first trophy today… but the Bayern Munich star can’t play in the match that will decide the Bundesliga title.

The England captain is one of the greatest strikers in football history, having scored 447 goals in 694 games for club and country.

He has numerous individual accolades and records to his name, and is the all-time top goalscorer for the Three Lions and boyhood club Tottenham.

But, infamously, Kane has never won a piece of silverware, having fallen short in several title races and major finals, including the Champions League in 2019, Euro 2020 and Euro 2024.

That barren run may end on Saturday however when Bayern travel to RB Leipzig knowing that a win will secure them the Bundesliga title with two games to spare.

But, perhaps fittingly, Kane will take no part in the potentially crowning match as he is ruled out through suspension.

The 31-year-old received his fifth yellow card of the season in last Saturday’s 3-0 win over Mainz which means a one-match ban for the striker.

The booking was given for time-wasting which left Kane enraged, saying post-match: ‘First of all, I think it’s an insane decision. It’s never a yellow card.

‘Unfortunately, sometimes people come to the Allianz Arena and try to make a name for themselves. That’s why I’m really disappointed that I got the yellow card, because of course I knew I already had four.

‘And secondly, I think the rule is crazy anyway. Five yellow cards in 34 games means a suspension. That’s crazy.

‘Crazy, crazy decision. It’s kind of my story that I’ll miss the Leipzig game. But no worries, I’ll celebrate more than anyone else.’

Kane’s suspension is a big blow for Vincent Kompany’s side, with the ex-Spurs man recording 36 goals and 12 assists in 44 appearances this season.

In his absence, Kompany appears to have selected Serge Gnabry to start up top, supported by an impressive attack of Michael Olise, Thomas Müller, and Leroy Sane.

Should Bayern fail to beat Leipzig they can still secure the title on Sunday if Bayer Leverkusen fail to win at Freiburg.

Last season, Kane’s first in Germany, Bayern’s 11-year Bundesliga winning streak was ended by the formidable Leverkusen and the Munich club failed to win a single trophy, leading to suggestion that Kane was well and truly cursed.
