Caldwell Potter won the Golden Miller Novices’ Handicap Chase, storming home to glory at 2pm. That won Sir Alex the biggest share of the £125,000 total prize pot for that race. His winner from last year’s festival, Protektorat, also ran on the same day in the Ryanair chase but finished in fifth place.
