Watch scenes from the Pavement musical ‘Slanted! Enchanted!’ from ‘PAVEMENTS’ movie
The Pavement movie opens in theaters around the country on May 2.

The Pavement movie, PAVEMENTS, is out on Friday (read our review) and one part of this harder-to-describe-than-you-might-think film is a jukebox musical, Slanted! Enchanted!, that director Alex Ross Perry created just for the film. There is both behind-the-scenes footage of the making of it, mockumentary style, plus some footage of the two performances the musical that were staged in NYC featuring Michael Esper (American Idiot, Appropriate) and Zoe Lister-Jones (New Girl, Delocated). They’ve just shared a three-minute segment dedicated to that on YouTube which will give you a little more context to the tone of PAVEMENTS. Watch that below.
You can catch PAVEMENTS in NYC at Film Forum with Alex Ross Perry and “special guests” in attendance on Friday (5/2, 8:10 PM), Saturday (5/3, 8:10 PM) and Sunday (5/4, 2:50 PM) and the Friday, May 9 screening (8:10 PM) will have a Q&A with producer/editor Robert Greene & cinematographer Robert Kolodny. Tickets are on sale.
You can also catch PAVEMENTS at BAM Rose Cinema on May 16 & 17 at 7:30 PM, and both screenings feature Q&As with the musical’s choreographers and cast.
All PAVEMENTS screening dates are here.
