It marked Vanthoor’s third pole in as many WeatherTech Championship races this season.

Nick Tandy made a late-session improvement to third in the GTP championship-leading No. 7 Penske Porsche 963 ahead of teammate Mathieu Jaminet in the No. 6 car.

GTD class pole honors went to Parker Thompson for the second year in a row.

Thompson, in the No. 12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3, reeled off a chart-topping 1:17.877 lap time to edge out Jonny Edgar’s No. 177 Porsche 911 GT3 R by 0.060 seconds.
