Using ChatGPT’s New Image Creation Ability For Creating “Spot The Difference” & “Hidden Objects” Images For ELLs

I’ve written in the past about how I’ve used “Spot The Difference” and “Hidden Objects” images with English Language Learners, and how I’ve had limited success using Google’s Gemini to create them (see Using (Or, Trying To Use) Google’s Gemini To Generate “Spot The Difference” Images).

ChatGPT recently added the ability to create images to ChatGPT, so I tried it out by asking it to create two “Spot The Difference” pictures in a kitchen with five differences. It created this:

I think it did a good job, though it listed the wrong differences between the two when I asked it to make a list of them.

Asking it to create a “Hidden Objects” picture seemed to be beyond it, and I didn’t have the time to upload examples and explain it further.

When I have time, I’ll revisit Gemini to see if its image ability has improved.
