Multiple inside sources spoke to PhoneArena and claimed that a major announcement is brewing. Employees say they feel they are bracing for a flood of customer complaints. One source, speaking anonymously, puts the odds of a T-Mobile price hike at around 70%. These changes are expected to take effect in April. This lines up nicely with the expiration of T-Mobile’s obligation to honor legacy Sprint merger plans.

Employees report being offered overtime and incentives, signs that something bad is brewing. The report also points to a now-deleted Reddit post that hinted at a big T-Mobile announcement this week. While nothing is confirmed yet, the T-Mobile plans affected are likely those from the Sprint migration process, particularly through the Magenta Complete program.

Is there a chance tomorrow’s news is about something else? Possibly. Some employees believe T-Mobile might try to soften the blow by pairing the price increase with a Starlink plan announcement. With Starlink already integrated into select T-Mobile tiers, it wouldn’t be surprising to see an expansion of this offering to distract from the rate hike backlash.
