United unveils bold new WEC look as it celebrates McLaren milestone

Anglo-American McLaren partner team United Autosports has taken the wraps off the livery that its pair of LMGT3 Evos will sport in the 2025 FIA WEC season.

United has gone with a bold, new take on the papaya and black design. Both cars stand out with this new-for-2025 livery during what is undoubtedly a hugely important season for the team and McLaren, which will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Woking brand’s 1995 Le Mans triumph this June.

“It is a very special year to be racing with McLaren in the WEC,” says Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO, “and our 2025 livery celebrates that. This season is about building on strong foundations, winning races and going for the championship title, and we are doing that in a car that is proudly, unmistakeably McLaren.”

The No. 59 McLaren GT3 EVO – which shares the race number of the Le Mans-winning McLaren F1 GTR – welcomes team returnees James Cottingham and Gregoire Saucy, who together posted three top-four race results with the team in the 2024 WEC, and newcomer Sebastien Baud.

In the No. 95 McLaren GT3 EVO – numbered in honour of the 1995 Le Mans victory – WEC race winners Darren Leung and Sean Gelael are making their debut with United Autosports, together with returning United driver Marino Sato.

“Now that we have proven the McLaren GT3 EVO’s speed and endurance at the highest level of competition, we enter the new season confident of competing for the WEC title with our Racing Partner United Autosports.” said Michael Leiters, CEO, McLaren Automotive.

“Racing is in the DNA of all our supercars and the WEC, with the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans at its heart, is the ideal competitive environment for them, so we are excited for what we can together deliver on the track this year.”
