The UK Open gets underway on Friday morning in Minehead, in what is always one of the highlights of the darts calendar.

Dimitri Van den Bergh is the defending champion after his dramatic 11-10 win over Luke Humphries in last year’s final.

World number one Humphries is still looking for his first UK Open title, as is world champion Luke Littler.

The likes of Premier League stars Gerwyn Price, Rob Cross, Stephen Bunting and Chris Dobey are all yet to land the UK Open title as well, showing how tough the competition is.

Michael van Gerwen has lifted the title three times, the same number as James Wade, although both trail behind the legend Phil Taylor with five UK Open titles.

The champion on Sunday could well be a completely unexpected name as well, though, as Andrew Gilding showed in 2023 when he beat MVG in the final.

The last three finals have gone to a deciding leg, which fans at Butlins will be hoping for again this weekend.
