Diana Belbita is leaving the octagon. The Romanian UFC fighter, who is based out of Stoney Creek, Ont., announced her retirement from the sport with a social-media post on Tuesday.

The Romanian UFC fighter, who is based out of Stoney Creek, Ont., announced her retirement from the sport with a social-media post on Tuesday.
“It was fun fighting at the highest level. I never even dared to dream that I will get there, but I ended up spending my last six years fighting for the best promotion in the world. It was a fun journey and I loved it. Now it’s time for me to start a new chapter,” Belbita wrote.
Belbita, 28, exits UFC with a 15-10 record after four consecutive losses dating back to October 2023. Her 15 victories demonstrated she could win in any way, with six knockouts and four submissions to go with five first-round finishes.
Most recently, Belbita fell to Brazil’s Diona Barbosa at UFC Fight Night on Saturday.
Known as “The Warrior Princess,” Belbita started her career in Europe and is a former world kempo champion.
