Tripping Daisy announce first North American tour in 26 years, playin ‘I Am an Electric Firecracker’ in full
Tripping Daisy was Tim DeLaughter’s pre-Polyphonic Spree band who scored a 1995 alt-rock hit with ”Got a Girl.”

Tripping Daisy, the Dallas psych-grunge band led by Tim DeLaughter (who’d go on to form The Polyphonic Spree) best known for alt-rock hit “I Got a Girl,” broke up in 1999 but have occasionally played reunion shows in Texas in the time since. Now Tim has gotten the band back together and Tripping Daisy will head out on their first North American tour in 26 years.
The tour will be a 30th anniversary celebration of their 1995 album I Am an Elastic Firecracker (the album with “I Got A Girl”) and they’ll be playing it in its entirety alongside “timeless favorites from every Tripping Daisy album.” The tour kicks off June 21 in Dallas and hits most major US and Canadian cities, wrapping up July 20 in Charlotte, NC. All dates are listed below.
The NYC show happens July 17 at Le Poisson Rouge and tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, April 18 at 10 AM local time.
