Fury has announced the date and location of his boxing returnGetty He has not fought since a unanimous decision win over KSI in October 2023Getty Fury took to social media on Monday to confirm he would be ending his two-year hiatus after recovering from surgery. The 25-year-old has not fought since securing a unanimous decision victory over KSI in October 2023. He had been scheduled to return in January against former UFC fighter Darren Till before withdrawing from the bout. Fury cited Till’s claims he would resort to ‘MMA tactics’ if he was losing the fight as the reason for his decision. However, he will now be re-entering the ring in less than four weeks on May 9 in Budapest. In a post on X, Fury wrote: “Two years out. One surgery. The hardest battle I’ve faced has been the mental battle of being away from boxing. “But I’m back stronger, sharper and more HUNGARY than ever. May 9th, Budapest… It’s showtime. Let’s go!” Fury also attached a graphic featuring the date and location along with the tagline: “The Comeback.” Despite his announcement, an opponent for Fury’s return is yet to be confirmed. The Brit currently has a professional record of ten wins with four knockouts following his win over KSI 18 months ago. Fury pulled out of a fight against Till in January due to his threat of ‘MMA tactics’Getty Meanwhile, he was recently embroiled in a war of words with another former opponent, Jake Paul, on social media. Paul offered Fury $3million for a rematch this year and promised his purse would rise to $4million if TNT could ‘legally get into the US’. Fury turned down the offer, though, responding: “Why would I agree to that when it’s less than our first fight AND I beat you? You’re deluded.” The pair previously met in the ring in February 2023 at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia. Both fighters were deducted a point for fouls during the bout, whilst Fury was knocked down in round eight. However, he was able to maintain his unbeaten professional record by securing a split decision victory. In Fury’s absence from boxing, Paul has gone on to fight four times since October 2023. Those bouts include a controversial clash with a 58-year-old Mike Tyson back in November.
