‘The Trouble With Tessa’ – SCREAMBOX Original Series Premieres This Summer! [Poster]

Bloody Disgusting is excited to announce the upcoming SCREAMBOX Original Series “The Trouble With Tessa,” coming to the BD-powered horror streaming service this Summer!

A six episode series (22 minutes each), “The Trouble With Tessa” centers on disgraced documentarian Tessa Fowler, who unearths a box of old tapes—one seemingly capturing a murder—and sets out to unravel the dark secrets buried in this perfect town’s past.

In the original horror series, “After Tessa Fowler’s skyrocketing career implodes overnight, the disgraced documentarian escapes to a small, idyllic mountain town called Lowery. It seems like the perfect place to hide: Lowery doesn’t allow cellphones, doesn’t have internet, and no one knows about Tessa’s past.

“Tessa’s determination to leave their investigative days behind them disappears, however, when they find a mysterious box of recordings in their rental home’s dingy basement. At first, the recordings seem to be nothing more than security footage.

“However, when Tessa plays a tape that appears to catch a murder in progress, they can’t help but start digging into this seemingly perfect town’s disturbing past.”

Katrin Nugent stars as Tessa Fowler, with the cast also including Casey Hartnett, Maria Wolf, Alexander Platt, Dennis Cahlo, John R. Smith, Jnr, Cory DeAn Cowley, Tina Ann Brock, Cordell Ijoma, Taso Mikroulis, and the voice talents of Will Rogers, Krystyna Hutchinson, Dave Ryan, Niuvis Martin aka “Thundercunt” of Amenorrhea, and Chaney Crabb of Entheos.

“The Trouble With Tessa” is directed by Dennis Cahlo & Bethany Watson, Photographed & Edited by Dennis Cahlo, and features Additional Cinematography by Phil Ortiz.

The SCREAMBOX Original series is written by Will Rogers, Dennis Cahlo, & Bethany Watson, from a story by Will Rogers, Dennis Cahlo, Bethany Watson, & Tony Wash. Executive Producers include Erick Opeka, Yolanda Macias, Brandon Hill, Brad Miska, Tom Owen, and Tony Wash.

“The Trouble With Tessa” was inspired by Cahlo and Watson’s move to New York’s Hudson Valley, with its pockets of no phone connectivity, mysterious stone chambers, and occasional random sirens. The series draws inspiration from two of Cahlo’s favorite movies, Halloween III: Season of the Witch and Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978).
