In the last hour of their extended nightmarish shift, the ER staff are finally allowed to process everything that has transpired during the day. The overflow of patients they had already been experiencing is drastically increased after the intake of the Pittfest mass shooting casualties. Amidst the turmoil, a plot point stemming since the series’ first episode takes the spotlight – of patient Theresa (Joanna Going) and her fear that her son David (Jackson Kelly) might commit a heinous crime.
