There’s nothing more disappointing than a movie trailer that gives everything away. Particularly in a genre like horror, where the narrative tension relies upon the audience being left in the dark. Sometimes, even literally. Abigail, a 2024 horror-comedy about a group of criminals stuck in a secluded manor with a vampiric perma-child, is almost more well-known for giving away the twist in its marketing than the actual blood-soaked comedy that made the film worth watching.
