Oasis fans react to Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame snub
"I think Noel is far more concerned about Man United to be honest" The post Oasis fans react to Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame snub appeared first on NME.

Oasis fans have been reacting to the band’s Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame snub.
The Rock Hall today (April 28) took to social media following the latest episode of American Idol, where the inductees were first revealed, to share this year’s inductees, which include The White Stripes, Cyndi Lauper, OutKast and Soundgarden.
Also being honoured at this year’s ceremony are Bad Company, Thom Bell, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Nicky Hopkins, Carol Kaye, Salt-N-Pepa, Lenny Waronker and Warren Zevon.
Oasis were among the artists who were part of the longlist but ultimately did not make the cut, marking the second time they had been snubbed from induction. They join Mariah Carey, Phish – who won the fan vote but still won’t be inducted, Billy Idol, The Black Crowes and Joy Division/New Order in being missed.
Now, fans of the Britpop icons have been responding to the snub, with some suggesting it’s down to the band being more popular in the UK than the US, where the Rock Hall is based. “Isn’t the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, an American thing ? Oasis would then naturally be less known,” one wrote, while another added: “Typical, innit? Outkast’s good, but Oasis practically invented Britpop—missed a trick there.”
Some also suggested that the band wouldn’t care about their omission anyway, with one writing: “I think Noel is far more concerned about Man United to be honest.” Check out more reactions below.
