Teaser Trailer: “Shrek 5”

Universal Pictures and Dreamworks Animation has released a teaser trailer for “Shrek 5,” the trailer also confirming that Zendaya has joined the cast as the voice of Shrek’s daughter.

Story details are under wraps. In the trailer, Shrek (Mike Myers) and Donkey (Eddie Murphy) ask Magic Mirror who the fairest of them all is.

The Magic Mirror responds with “Why, Shrek, of course” before showing them Shrek memes. Then, the rest of the family get in on the action – including Pinocchio.

The fourth film saw Fiona (Cameron Diaz) give birth to triplets, but only the one daughter is seen here. So far the reaction to the trailer has been very divided due to the change in animation style.

The characters now boast a somewhat different look with complaints that the film now looks more akin to “Madagascar”. The project is directed by Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon along with co-director Brad Ableson.

“Shrek 5” is scheduled to hit cinemas December 23rd 2026 and will mark the first “Shrek” film in sixteen years.
