The Study Of Man colt didn’t show much in his first couple of starts but caught the eye at Yarmouth last time despite being sent off at 200/1. He pulled clear with two promising colts that had shown a useful level of form in their previous starts in novice company. A mark of 82 could be within range on handicap debut and he is well drawn in stall two. A half brother to Derby winner Desert Crown he should relish the step up in trip to 1m2f. 15:13 York – Consecrated @ 11/2 Impressive debut winner Consecrated looks one to keep on side in the fillies Listed Stakes. She stretched clear in fine style at Newbury over 7f in April, with the form boosted by the third and fourth-placed runners winning next time. She was very strong at the finish and is bred to be suited by the step up to a mile. She is the least experienced runner in the field but remains open to any amount of improvement. Gulya may be the biggest danger, she chased home subsequent Group three winner Whirl on debut and was unlucky not to win on her seasonal return. 16:55 York – Bowmark @ SP Bowmark may be able to defy a penalty in the valuable novice stakes. He was another smart prospect from the Gosden yard to make a winning debut on the all weather when bolting up in impressive fashion at Kempton in December. That race has thrown up a few winners but he advanced his form further when returning from a three month absence at Listed level, narrowly denied by a race-fit rival Glittering Legend, with the 110-rated Royal Playwright in third. While he takes on some promising rivals here, that appeals as strong form to bring back to novice company and he could take some beating. Crown Of Oaks could put up the most resistance, he was unlucky on seasonal debut and should reserve form with Point of Contact at these weights. talkSPORT BET welcome offer – Bet £10 Get £30 in free bets Visit talkSPORT BET for all the latest horse racing betting odds *all odds correct at time of writing and subject to change 18+ New customers only.
