talkSPORT betting tips – Best golf bets and expert advice for the Truist Championship

There is just one week to go before the second Major of the golf season and the vast majority of the PGA Tour’s leading lights will warm up for the US PGA Championship at the latest signature event, the Truist Championship. World number-one Scottie Scheffler will sit this one out after cruising to success in last week’s CJ Cup and with this week’s regular venue Quail Hollow being used next week, the elite field will take on the unfamiliar Wissahickon Course at Philadelphia Cricket Club. This is a tight track that may not play to the strengths of favourite Rory McIlroy so there could be some value to be found a little way down the list. talkSPORT BET welcome offer – Get £20 in free bets* Truist Championship betting tips Jordan Spieth to win the Truist Championship @ 25/1 Shane Lowry to win the Truist Championship @ 35/1 Justin Rose to win the Truist Championship @ 66/1 Jordan Spieth to win @ 25/1 Jordan Spieth can join McIlroy as a career Grand Slam winner with success at Quail Hollow next week and the Texan can get the perfect tonic by ending a three-year winless run in Philadelphia. It is ten years since Spieth won his first Major at the Masters and had the golf world at his feet, but the signs are there that he is coming into some strong form. He finished a creditable 14th at the Masters after managing to squeeze the right side of the cut and he closed with a 62 to finish fourth at the CJ Cup last week. With close friend Justin Thomas ending his own similar barren spell at the RBC Heritage last month, the motivation is there and Spieth could be back in the winner’s circle this week at a venue that should play to his course-management strengths. Shane Lowry to win @ 35/1 A strong short game and the ability to flush irons should be the prerequisites for success this week, and that should play to the consistent Shane Lowry’s strengths. The Irishman was right up there at Augusta before a closing 81 scuppered his chances, but he has finished in the top 20 in 15 of his last 18 outings and is more than happy to go toe-to-toe with the best in the game. Lowry was second at Pebble Beach on another short course – this week’s par 70 is just 7,119 yards – and also earned top-ten spots at the Valspar Championship and Arnold Palmer Invitations, so he could have another big week. Justin Rose to win @ 66/1 One player who is worth taking a small interest in this week is Justin Rose, who ran McIlroy so close at Augusta only to suffer Masters playoff heartache for the second time. The Englishman’s 42nd at the RBC Heritage the following week can probably be excused after all that emotion, but his Sunday performance in the year’s first Major, when he shot 66, was superb. He also performed well at other signature events, finishing third at Pebble Beach and eighth at the Arnold Palmer, so the signs are there that the 2013 US Open winner is back to his best. talkSPORT BET welcome offer – Get £20 in free bets* *18+ New customers only. • Justin Rose to win the Truist Championship @ 66/1

Jordan Spieth to win @ 25/1

Jordan Spieth can join McIlroy as a career Grand Slam winner with success at Quail Hollow next week and the Texan can get the perfect tonic by ending a three-year winless run in Philadelphia.

It is ten years since Spieth won his first Major at the Masters and had the golf world at his feet, but the signs are there that he is coming into some strong form.

Shane Lowry to win @ 35/1

A strong short game and the ability to flush irons should be the prerequisites for success this week, and that should play to the consistent Shane Lowry’s strengths.

The Irishman was right up there at Augusta before a closing 81 scuppered his chances, but he has finished in the top 20 in 15 of his last 18 outings and is more than happy to go toe-to-toe with the best in the game.
