Elsewhere, there are fixtures up and down the domestic pyramid on a super Saturday of sport. BET £10 GET £30 IN FREE BETS WITH TALKSPORT BET Saturday football betting tips Bet of the Day – Rangers to beat St Mirren @ 4/5 It’s been a tough campaign for Rangers and defeat to Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League last week will mean a trophyless season for the Gers. It’s clear that the Light Blues have slipped way off the pace this term, but perhaps not as much as offers of 4/5 about a Rangers win at St Mirren on Saturday suggest. The Ibrox outfit have been ruddleless since former manager Philippe Clement departed and it seems clear that temporary boss Barry Ferguson won’t be getting the job on a full-time basis. However, there is a new manager on the horizon and the Rangers squad will be looking to secure their futures. Those factors aside, the Gers have been good enough to beat Celtic, Fenerbahce and Nice, hold Tottenham to a 1-1 draw and been mighty unfortunate to lose 2-1 against Manchester United. Those are strong performances and they have come up against far stronger opposition than St Mirren. The Buddies have won only three of their last 10 matches and they rode their luck in a 3-2 success over Ross County last time out. Special of the Day – Everton or draw double chance v Chelsea @ 13/10 There is no doubt Chelsea have the edge over Everton in terms of squad depth and quality, but there isn’t anything in the recent performances of the Blues to make them 4/7 chances at home to Everton on Saturday. Of course, Enzo Maresca’s men are pushing for European qualification, while Everton are tucked away in midfield, but Chelsea still look too short. The Blues needed two last-gasp goals to down Fulham 2-1 last time out, prior to that narrow success the west Londoners were beaten by Legia Warsaw and held to a 2-2 draw by an Ipswich side heading for the Championship. Everton have lost only two of their last 10 matches and those defeats came against top-level teams in Manchester City and Liverpool. Chelsea have eyes of returning to the Premier League’s elite, but they look a way off that target and Everton can avoid defeat at Stamford Bridge. Longshot of the Day – QPR to beat Burnley and both teams to score @ 8/1 Burnley have gained promotion to the Premier League and there has to be a chance that the Clarets may have taken their eye off the ball following Monday night’s celebrations Either way, QPR have lost only three of their last 13 second-tier matches at Loftus Road and the Hoops look capable of giving Scott Parker’s side a game on Saturday. Clearly, Burnley are the stronger outfit, but the Clarets got a lot of help from the referee when beating Watford 2-1 in their latest away day and prior to that Parker’s men were held to a 0-0 draw at Derby. Burnley are still fighting for the title, though, so are still expected to have a go and there could be goals at both ends in this one.
