‘Superman’ Saquon Barkley lives up to Quadzilla nickname with insane 585lbs squat leaving fans in awe

‘Quadzilla’ is putting in the work once again. Saquon Barkley was the best running back in the NFL last season, and much of his domination was powered by his iconic quads. Barkley’s 2024 Super Bowl-winning season was powered by his huge legsGetty The Philadelphia Eagles star struck fear into the most hardened of NFL defenders in 2024, en route to 2,504 rushing yards and a Super Bowl win. But his power made headlines long before that 40-22 win in front of the world against the punchless Kansas City Chiefs back in February. Saquon’s muscular pistons shot to prominence during his college days as a superstar with Penn State. He went on to be the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the New York Giants after a number of school records and a fourth placed finish in Heisman Trophy voting. His work in the weight room also went viral, and the running back was seen squatting seven reps at 495 pounds before even breaking into the NFL. Barkley has gone from strength to strength in the pros, and this week, the Eagles shared a new video of their star working out. This time, he was seen squatting 585 pounds. “Nah, this is wild,” The Eagles wrote, captioning the video, which shows ‘SaQuads’ completing two reps as the bar bends over his back. Unsurprisingly, the footage soon went viral, with many fans excited for what’s to come in 2025. “What an absolute beast,” one person responded. “3,000 yard season incoming,” another said. Barkley famously backwards-hurdled a Jaguars defender last season “The more explosive you are, the higher you can jump and break out that speed — nabbing 70 to 80-yard touchdowns.” Indeed, fans saw Barkley break for multiple long touchdowns in 2024, with three of his five in the postseason going for 60-plus yards.
