Stars’ DeBoer believes Heiskanen, Roberston will play Round 2

After powering past the Colorado Avalanche en route to the second round of the post-season, it’s hard to believe the Dallas Stars did so without two of their best players.
The Stars were without forward Jason Robertson and defenceman Miro Heiskanen against the Avs in the first round, but could be getting both of them back in Round 2, head coach Pete DeBoer believes.
Though he didn’t lay out a formal timeline, DeBoer told reporters that both superstars should be back sometime during the series. He did not say if either would be ready for Game 1.
Both players were considered day-to-day heading into Saturday’s Game 7.
Robertson, 25, suffered a lower-body injury that was originally classified as week-to-week in Dallas’s regular-season finale.
He had 35 goals and 45 assists for 80 points while playing all 82 games this season.
Heiskanen, meanwhile, has been out of the lineup since January after having knee surgery. The 25-year-old defenceman returned to practice before the start of the playoffs.
In 50 games before the injury, the Finn racked up five goals and 20 assists.
Another factor helping the Stars along is that their Round 2 opponent has yet to be determined, giving the duo more time to recover. Dallas will play the winner of the series between the Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues, with Game 7 of the showdown taking place on Sunday.
