Some brief updates have come through on a number of high-profile sequels in the works.
First up, “Sinners” star Hailee Steinfeld says they’re right into the thick of it with work on “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” which is due out in 2027. Speaking with MTV’s Josh Horowitz, she confirms she’s already recording her lines:
“We’re well into that thing. Listen, that’s the thing. You’ve got to trust the process. If there’s one thing I’ve learned with that, it’s that. You put it in their hands and you’re going to end up with something masterful. You just got to go with it.”
Next, actor Tim Allen spoke with Collider and gave a brief update on “Toy Story 5” saying the new film will put the focus on Joan Cusack’s Jessie and will see Woody and Buzz coming together again:
“I can tell you that it’s a lot about Jessie. Tom [Hanks] and I do – Woody and I – do realign. And there’s an unbelievable opening scene with Buzz Lightyears. I can give you that, but I can’t give you much more.”
Finally, Vin Diesel has taken to Instagram to plead with Universal Pictures to give the eleventh and final “Fast and Furious” film a release date. In his post, he says: “Universal… Please tell the best fans in the world, when the next movie is coming out. Please.”
The project hasn’t begun filming as yet, and despite an unspecified 2026 date being on the cards, it’s not clear when the movie will go ahead.
