Senators’ Tkachuk ruled out vs. Blackhawks, expected back for playoffs
Brady Tkachuk isn’t ready to return just yet. The Ottawa Senators‘ star winger will miss his 10th consecutive game on Tuesday, as head coach Travis Green told reporters on Monday that Tkachuk’s been ruled out for the team’s upcoming home game against the Chicago Blackhawks. Tkachuk, 25, has been out of the Senators lineup since March 30 due to an upper-body injury. The 25-year-old posted 55 points (29 goals, 26 assists) through 71 appearances this season. Despite missing the last two weeks, Tkachuk still ranks first on the team in goals, sixth in assists and fourth in total points. He also leads Ottawa in power-play goals (14), penalty minutes (123) and hits (227). Green was optimistic about Tkachuk’s chances to return for Round 1 of the playoffs, however, saying he expects the left winger to be back. His return would be a much-welcomed boost as the Senators prepare for their first post-season appearance since 2017.
