Ryan Garcia and his father Henry got into a furious shouting match with Devin Haney’s dad Bill in New York. Bitter rivals Garcia and Haney will both return to action this Friday night in a historic bill at New York’s Times Square. Garcia and Haney’s dad traded fiery and angry words during an open workout The pair met in a showdown last year which saw Garcia drop and beat Haney, but the bout result was overturned after ‘King Ry’ failed a drugs test. Garcia is preparing for his clash with Rolly Romero, while Haney will take on Jose Ramirez with separate victories needed to tee up a sequel in October. During the former’s open workout, Haney’s father Bill watched on and heckled from ringside. Garcia shouted back: “You know what happened to your son last time, I wouldn’t be talking.” The fighter had his gloves on and was stood with his father Henry who watched on as he crashed the pads. Haney’s dad continued to shout from ringside, and Garcia continued: “I never heard Devin talk like that once.” Garcia’s dad chimed in: “You f**ing a**hole.” Haney’s father added: “Oh that bicycle. You got off that bicycle and it isn’t working.” Garcia continued aggressively: “You know how we came last time. That’s how we handled you last time. “He should stay real quiet, here that s***t, hear that s**t. There is so much history between the families, hence why a sequel was immediately arranged by Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh, upon the conclusion of Garcia’s one year ban from the sport. Both fighters need to get the job done in New York, and are trying to focus on their own nights of business. Garcia has history with Romero and needs a big victory to try and open up his campaign at 147lbs. And he is confident he can put the past behind him and deliver the KO blow.
