Reader Question:

When did Accor Plus Traveller disappear as an ongoing option? I’d prefer to pay less and skip the “free night” that isn’t free and is a pain to use.

Here’s an image of the Accor Plus Traveller and Explorer offer that was available last fall:

The Accor Plus Traveller has sometimes been available using ALL points at a very favorable rate (as low as 4K points = 80 euros).

It doesn’t come with a free night voucher but includes all the other Accor Plus benefits, such as the Red Hot Rooms, 10% discount, and up to 50% F&B discount when two people dine together.

When we covered the Accor Plus pricing earlier this year, I noticed that this Traveller was omitted, but didn’t think much of it.

Accor Plus Product & Pricing Update February 2025

Accor Plus Australia Sign Up 20% Off Offer (Expiry Unclear)

We have been in touch with Accor Plus, who told us that they have rationalized and simplified the options available and that members have predominantly chosen the option with a free night (it is 1 or 2 nights in some markets).

So, this option without the free night at a lower price point or using points is not available.

Obviously, Accor Plus could bring it back on a promotional basis if they feel that it would drive sign-ups and convert people to the free night cert membership the following year.

Conclusion

I have not been part of this Accor Plus, but wouldn’t mind signing up if I could take advantage of these Red Hot Rooms (usually 50% off) and if the free night would be widely available (it alone can pay for the membership).

I rarely wine and dine at hotels, and the F&B discount is not of interest to me (it can work for those who stay longer at resorts where they are captive guests).

There has been some feedback that these free night certs are sometimes challenging to use and may REQUIRE a stay of two or three nights, but I have no personal experience.
