The Toronto Raptors guard underwent shoulder surgery this week, which will require four-to-six months of recovery, the team announced on Tuesday.
Rhoden, 25, signed a 10-day contract with the Raptors in February before inking a two-way deal.
The Baldwin, N.Y., native appeared in 10 games with Toronto this season, averaging 11.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 21.5 minutes per contest.
He recorded career highs of 25 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in a March victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Rhoden also played four games as a member of the Charlotte Hornets.
His two-way contract with the Raptors extends through next season.
