Raptors’ Brandon Ingram won’t play again this season

Brandon Ingram‘s Toronto Raptors debut will have to wait until next season.

Ingram had a PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) injection for his ankle Tuesday and will be pulled back from basketball activities for the remainder of the season, Sportsnet’s Michael Grange reported Wednesday.

The Raptors acquired Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans in February. He hasn’t played since December because of an ankle injury.

The decision comes as no surprise. The Raptors are out of playoff contention and have just three games left.

The specialist in New York examining Ingram reported his recovery is on track and he’s expected to be available for his summer training program.

The Raptors signed Ingram to a three-year, $120-million extension after the trade.

Ingram, 27, averaged 22.2 points per game in 18 appearances for New Orleans this season, along with 6.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists.

Ingram was an NBA All-Star in 2020.
