In its latest sales update, Proton revealed that the locally-assembled (CKD) X70 was unveiled in Bangladesh on April 30, 2025. The C-segment SUV was previously sold as a fully-imported (CBU) model through PHP Automobiles, but is now under the helm of Rancon Cars, with local assembly taking place at the Rancon Auto Industries facility located in Bhawanipur, Kashimpur, Gazipur, inside the Rancon Industrial Park.
According to reports by The Autodrive, The Business Standard and The Daily Star, the made-in-Bangladesh X70 is priced at 3.85 million Bangladeshi taka (about RM134k), which is less than the CBU version that retailed for between Tk4.4 and 4.8 million (RM153k and RM167k).
All units sold come with a five-year, 150,000-km warranty, with only a single variant available (the CBU had two) that is powered by a 1.5 litre turbocharged inline-three petrol engine rated at 177 PS (174 hp or 130 kW) and 255 Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, with this setup being identical to our own X70.
In terms of equipment, the X70 in Bangladesh comes with 19-inch alloy wheels (225/50 profile tyres), keyless entry and start, selectable drive modes, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected services (weather updates, music streaming), dual-zone climate control (with N95 air filter), Nappa leather seat upholstery, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning as well as hill hold and descent control.
