FlightPath3D is changing the way travelers experience the award-winning moving map. FlightPath3D Cloud leverages a Software as a Service (SAAS) architecture on the ground to ensure a consistent experience for passengers throughout the travel experience, across any device and at any point throughout their travels.
“FlightPath3D Cloud revolutionizes travel by offering instant deployment, accessible both inflight and through airline digital platforms like apps and websites,” states Duncan Jackson, President of FlightPath3D. “It extends the journey enriching every phase from pre-flight planning to post-flight exploration with features like live arrival gate and baggage updates, all delivered through our immersive, customizable interface.”
Formally launching at Aircraft Interiors Expo this week in Hamburg, FlightPath3D Cloud brings a seamless, consistent, fully featured FlightPath3D experience to personal devices and seatback screens, using an on-board server or an available inflight connectivity link. Airlines decide where functionality lives and how it is delivered to passengers. Leveraging data provided by FlightAware, it also brings new features to the flight tracking experience, such as arrival gate and baggage information.
This builds on the cloud infrastructure in place for FlightPath3D’s Route Map product WhereWeFly, currently live on Heathrow, Philadelphia and other major airport websites. And thanks to FlightPath3D’s build once, deploy anywhere architecture airlines can easily deliver a common passenger experience across the travel ribbon, not just in the sky.
Delivering More than Just a Map
Ground-based experiences, such as the airline website or app, can now display the same data as a seat-back screen, retaining all airline-specific branding and customizations. Gate displays and other airport touchpoints can render the same content passengers stream on their personal devices. Transitioning between airline-managed and personal devices or enabling a multi-screen experience can be handled via simple cues such as a QR code.
Moreover, airlines can now extend the destination discovery experience pre- and post-flight. By serving up information about the destination and locations along the route, in addition to flight details, airlines can enable real-time upsells and partner booking options for experiences on the ground.
Loyalty program integration furthers this use case, with personalized content, rewards, and exclusive offers surfaced via the map interface. This can be extended with the Luci Flight Companion, allowing airlines to include targeted marketing offers alongside route and destination details.
FlightPath3D (Booth #4D60) is displaying the Cloud solution at Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany from April 8-10, 2025.
