Despite a disappointing season, the Nashville Predators are sticking with their head coach.
Andrew Brunette will be returning behind the Predators bench for the 2025-26 season, general manager Barry Trotz told reporters at Bridgestone Arena Monday.
“(Brunette) is a good young coach. He had a tough situation this year,” Trotz said. “But like a good young player, you have to stick with a good young coach.”
Nashville finished 30-44-8, earning their lowest points total since 2012-13 after making the playoffs in nine of the 10 previous seasons.
It was Brunette’s second season with the Predators after working as an assistant with the Minnesota Wild, Florida Panthers and New Jersey Devils, and occupying the head coaching role on an interim basis with Florida in 2021-22.
In his first season as a full-time head coach in Nashville, Brunette was 47-30-5 and was a finalist for the 2024 Jack Adams Award.
“He needs to add a lot of tools to his toolbelt,” Trotz added.
Trotz said assistant coaches Todd Richards, Derek MacKenzie, and Darby Hendrickson will return according to a report from The Tennessean.
