Prasarana provides six Rapid KL On-Demand vans in FOC service for Putra Heights gas pipeline fire victims

Prasarana is providing door-to-door van services to victims of the Putra Heights gas pipeline fire, between the temporary shelter at Dewan Masjid Putra Heights and the surrounding residential areas, the company has announced.

Throrugh the Prasarana Prihatin programme, the free-of-charge service commences today (April 3) and will deploy six Rapid KL On-Demand vans until the situation stabilises for victims of the incident, the statement read. These vans will operate between Dewan Masjid Putra Heights and surrounding residential areas including Putra Heights, Kampung Puchong Tengah, and Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru.

In addition to the bus captains on the free-of-charge on-demand van service, personnel at key locations will also include traffic control officers and auxiliary police personnel to assist in the smooth operation of the service to and from the temporary shelter.

This initiative is aimed at supporting victims of the fire by assisting in the retrieval of essential items and personal documents from their homes while they are temporarily located at the shelter, and Prasarana is working with the Petaling district government office to ensure that the mobility needs of the victims are catered for, the statement read.

Meanwhile, Chery has pledged its support for the Putra Heights gas pipeline fire victims with the provision of 50 cars for temporary use, while PIAM has stated that insurance providers will work to expedite claims for vehicles and property covered by insurance.
