Offered the opportinuty to become supervisor, but it wasn't true
My Wife has been working for a company in the UK for the past 8/9 years. Last year she was offered the opportunity to train and become a supervisor. However, she put in a letter to her area manager to say that she feels the current supervisor has been taking advantage of the situation, hasn't provided any of the offered training and has instead just sent her out to do the job of a supervisor. She went to a meeting yesterday with the area manager who has told her that her contract does not stand, she was never to be given the job title or been doing any of the things she has been made to do. She has still gone into work today, though she has effectively been demoted of her duties. She is very upset with the whole situation and feels she has been somewhat manipulated into believing she had a position she does not hold. What can she do regarding this situation?
