NFL Superstar Spends a Fortune Each Year for Body Maintenance

NFL superstar CeeDee Lamb is high maintenance. Just like a Ferrari, it's expensive to keep him running at high-octane speed.

The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver recently sat down with Complex Sports and revealed he spends a whopping $1.3 million a year to maintain his body. That's a lot of money for things like ice baths, red light therapy, and hyperbaric chambers, among other things.

“I’m not going to lie. It’s a lot of money,” he shared. “Every two weeks is $50,000… There’s 52 weeks in a year… That’s your number.”

The 26-year-old says the bulk of his body maintenance expenses goes to recovery.

"The list could go on and on," the 6-foot-2, 201-pounder continued. "What I do for a living, it’s very physical, and some short weeks are more lethal than your regular seven-day schedule. So I’m just staying on top of that and always trying to replenish the body, stay hydrated, keep my muscle functioning up, and trying to get a lead on my opponent.”

At the end of the day, $1.3 million is chump change for the return on investment his body has yielded. It was back in August when Lamb signed a 4-year, $136 million extension with the Cowboys, though just last month he restructured the deal to help the team free up salary cap space.

Whatever the case, Lamb has proven year in, year out that investing in his body pays dividends. Even while battling a lingering shoulder injury last season, Lamb still hauled in 1,194 yards receiving and six touchdowns.

Lamb, the No. 17 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma, has recorded 1,000-yard seasons for four consecutive seasons. He was merely 65 yards short of a 1,000-yard season in his rookie year.
