After Warner Bros. Discovery opted out of releasing Genndy Tartakovsky’s R-rated adult comedy animated feature “FIXED” last Summer, Netflix snapped up the project and has now officially set an August 13th release date for the movie.
The “Samurai Jack” and “Primal” creator and “Hotel Transylania” director’s new film is a very R-rated 2D hand-drawn animation story produced by both New Line Cinema and Sony Pictures Animation.
The story follows Bull: a slick and quick-witted mutt who discovers he is going to be neutered in the morning.
As the gravity of this life-altering event sets in, Bull enlists his loyal neighborhood pals to accompany him on one last untamed all-night adventure, with the mission of proclaiming his love for the show dog next door, Honey.
Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Adam Devine, Bobby Moynihan, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett, River Gallo and Michelle Buteau lend their voices to the project
Tartakovsky previously made it clear the humor in the film will not be pop culture based, rather focusing on character. He also dubs it a “sweet, charming, sincere story of friendship and romance”.
