NASCAR has confirmed that Homestead-Miami Speedway will return as the host of championship weekend in 2026.

All three NASCAR national series will crown their champions the weekend of November 6-8. It will be the first time since 2019 (main image) that the track has held the season-ending date, having first moved into the final spot on the calendar in 2002.

The move is for the 2026 season as NASCAR shifts to a rotating model with its championship race to “ensure that the season’s exciting conclusion is shared amongst NASCAR’s marquee venues and key markets.” Phoenix Raceway, which has hosted the championship race since 2020 after undergoing a $178 million renovation, will be included in that rotation.

Additionally, Phoenix Raceway will continue to hold two race weekends next year. Its fall event will be in the postseason’s Round of 8.

“Homestead-Miami Speedway has a history of competitive, championship racing that will provide nostalgia for veteran drivers and fans and exhilaration for NASCAR’s new generation,” said Ben Kennedy, EVP, chief venue and racing innovation officer. “As we move forward, the rotating model will provide new challenges for competitors as well as opportunities for unique venues to host our loyal fans at NASCAR Championship Weekend.”

Homestead has held its race at various points during the year since the championship weekend moved away. This season it was held at the end of March.

“As we celebrate our 30th season, it is fitting we will start our next decade returning to our championship roots at Homestead-Miami Speedway,” said Guillermo Santa Cruz, Homestead-Miami Speedway President. “The 2026 NASCAR Championship Weekend will offer the brightest young stars of the sport the opportunity to join the illustrious 18-year history of championship racing in South Florida alongside veteran fan-favorite drivers.”
