Mohamed Salah reveals why he has signed new contract with Liverpool
The Egyptian's previous deal had been due to expire in the summer.

Mohamed Salah has put an end to the uncertainty over his future by signing a new two-year contract at Liverpool.
The Egyptian’s previous deal had been due to expire in the summer and there were fears he could be heading towards the exit door at Anfield, along with Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is expected to join Real Madrid.
Throughout the course of the season, Salah, Liverpool’s third-highest goalscorer in history behind Ian Rush and Roger Hunt, has dropped a number of hints that his time on Merseyside could be coming to an end.
The Saudi Pro League has long been mooted as a possible destination for Salah, but the 32-year-old is ‘very excited’ to continue his incredible legacy with the Reds for at least another two years.
‘Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now,’ Salah told the club’s official website.

‘Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.
‘It’s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it’s going to be ten.’
Salah urged Liverpool fans to ‘keep supporting’ the team over the coming weeks, months and years, with the talismanic forward on course to add a second Premier League crown to his collection this term.
‘I’m enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career,’ he added.
‘I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together.
‘Keep supporting us and we’ll give it our best, and hopefully in the future we’re going to win more trophies.’
Salah has written himself into Liverpool folklore since completing a move from Serie A outfit Roma in 2017.
The Egypt international has scored 243 goals in 394 appearances for Liverpool and was arguably the key figure of the Jurgen Klopp era as the club won eight pieces of silverware , including the Premier League and the Champions League.
This season, the Reds are racing towards the league title in Arne Slot’s debut year as manager – and Salah has once again led from the front, racking up 27 goals and 17 assists in the English top flight.
The former Chelsea attacker is the overwhelming favourite to be named the PFA Player of the Year and is also a leading contender to get his hands on this year’s Ballon d’Or award.
While Liverpool have grown increasingly resigned to losing Alexander-Arnold to the Bernabeu this summer, there is renewed hope that club captain Virgil van Dijk is close to extending his stay.
‘There is progress, yeah. I don’t know, we’ll see. Listen, these are internal discussions and we’ll see,’ the Dutch central defender said earlier this week.
‘I love the club, I love the fans and they were there for us again and we wanted to reward them at Fulham.
‘But I want them to be there against West Ham on Sunday again and make the stadium an amazing venue like always for us.’
After falling to a shock defeat at Fulham, Liverpool look to return to winning ways in the Premier League this weekend at home to a West Ham team without a win in four matches.
Slot’s men hold an imperious 11-point lead over second-placed Arsenal with seven games remaining of the campaign.
