MJ Lenderman & This is Lorelei team for new version of “Dancing in the Club”
It’s off the just-announced deluxe edition of This Is Lorelei’s ‘Box For Buddy, Box for Star,’ which also features a Snail Mail version of ”Two Legs.”

This is Lorelei‘s Box for Buddy, Box for Star, one of our favorite albums of 2024, is getting a new deluxe edition. It’s due out on April 25 via Double Double Whammy, and it features new renditions of a few songs from Snail Mail‘s Lindsay Jordan, Nate Amos’ father and sister, Bob and Sarah Amos, and MJ Lenderman. See the cover art and tracklist below.
He’s shared the MJ Lenderman version of “Dancing in the Club,” which Lenderman began covering live back in January, after shouting out Box for Buddy in the cover story of our digital magazine last year. “Box For Buddy was by far the album I listened to most in 2024,” Lenderman says. “I had a great time re-recording ‘Dancing in the Club’ with Nate back in December.” Amos adds, “I really loved working on the MJ version of ‘Dancing in the Club’ – Jake is chill af and mad talented. More so than any other song I’ve written this one was dreamt up for others to sing, so it was pretty freaky watching it fall into place with someone like Jake handling lead vocals.” Hear it below.
This is Lorelei is on tour with Starcleaner Reunion now, and has dates with MJ Lenderman starting in April, including supporting him at one of his NYC shows at Brooklyn Steel on April 29. See all dates below.
