Tommy Milner will join Robert Wickens in the DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Milner and Wickens will share the No. 36 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, which will be equipped with a Bosch-developed hand-control system for Wickens.
It will be Wickens’ first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship start since 2017, while Milner is available as the GTD Pro class, in which the American normally competes, is not part of the 100-minute sprint race on the Californian street circuit.
“I’m really excited to join DXDT and Robert at Long Beach,” said Milner.
“This event presents a perfect combination of opportunities: reuniting with DXDT, supporting Rob in his Corvette debut, and returning to the Long Beach track.”
In order to prepare for the Long Beach event, Wickens has been testing with the No. 36 Chevrolet, fitted with the hand-control system, during a two-day test at Sebring International Raceway.
Milner, for his part, ran with the system during a straight-line test and shakedown with DXDT in January, held at Florida International Rally and Motorsport Park.
“So far, so good,” said Wickens.
“I am acclimating quickly to the Corvette Z06 GT3.R, it’s a great race car. The Bosch system is delivering excellent performance.
“I’ve got a dream team behind me with Bosch, GM, Pratt & Miller and of course everyone David Askew and everyone at DXDT Racing, and now an outstanding co-driver, I couldn’t be more excited to race at Long Beach again.”
