Marvel Confirms No “Moon Knight” Season 2

Marvel Studios released their “Moon Knight” series on the Disney+ streamer back in 2022, the Oscar Isaac-led series drawing quite good reviews from critics and audiences.

Boasting a darker and deliberately weirder tone than other MCU fare, Isaac played a mercenary with dissociative identity disorder who finds himself and his various personalities drawn into a deadly mystery involving Egyptian gods.

The series was designed as a mini-series, but rumors of a second season sprang up shortly after airing. Now, Marvel Television’s Brad Winderbaum has confirmed to Comicbook.com that there are no plans for more “Moon Knight” as a series:

“So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future. And moving forward, our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television.”

However, Winderbaum also says Isaac’s character is far from done with the MCU, saying that: “There are plans for Moon Knight down the road.” Just how the character may return remains to be seen, and whether it will pick up on the finale with the emergence of an even more ruthless persona.

All six episodes of “Moon Knight” are currently available on the Disney+ streaming service.
