Manchester United have reduced their price tag for Rasmus Hojlund ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports.

The Denmark international striker has massively struggled at Old Trafford this season, scoring just three Premier League goals across 28 games.

It was reported in March that United wanted £50m to sell Hojlund at the end of the season but it appears they have significantly slashed his price.

United would now be willing to offload the underperforming 22-year-old for just £30m, The Guardian have reported.

The Red Devils signed Hojlund less than two years ago from Italian club Atalanta in a deal worth £72m.

Hojlund is under contract with United until the summer of 2028 with the option to extend for a further year.

Speaking after United lost 1-0 at home to Wolves in their last match, head coach Ruben Amorim insisted Hojlund was not solely to blame for the club’s goalscoring problems.

‘I think if you look at the games we have several players that miss big chances, not just Rasmus,’ Amorim said.

‘Of course, Rasmus, the game is to score goals because he’s a striker, but it’s a team thing.

‘I already said that. Our team should score more goals, it’s not just Rasmus missing chances.’

Amorim then hinted he will continue picking Hojlund when quizzed if he needed to be taken out of the XI to recover mentally from his poor form.

‘The only way I know is to work on him and show him the videos,’ Amorim added.

‘Like you said he needs to score a goal and he won’t score if he is out [of the team] so I try to manage that during games. He needs to score, that’s all, like a striker needs.’

United have been strongly linked with a move for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha but must raise funds from player sales in order to sign him.

It seems Hojlund is one of the players who could be sold, if United manage to find a buyer in the summer transfer window.

Italian journalist Matteo Moretto reported this month that Juventus were interested in signing Hojlund from United.

Fellow Serie A side Napoli are also thought to be interested in a potential deal for the Dane.

Juventus appear to be leading the race at this moment in time, though, having reportedly opened preliminary talks over a possible move.
