His long-serving coach Joe Lazarus recently passed away along with the mother of a close friend and his wife’s uncle. Bingham explained: “It just shows you however tough snooker is, it’s only a game. “Life is more important. When you are young you go to weddings and things like that. “But the older you get, it turns to funerals. All the friends and family through life. The Australian now faces Mark Selby in the quarter-finals at the Telford International Centre on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bingham will turn his attention to next month’s World Championship in Sheffield. He has not qualified for the Tour Championship due to being ranked 14th on the one-year list. Only the top 12 players on the tour this year will appear in Manchester later this month. Instead, Bingham will be looking to win his second World Championship at the Crucible across April and May. He is set to enter the tournament in the third qualifying round, with only 16 players automatically entering the main draw.
