Kia to present production EV4 and PV5 at upcoming EV Day on Feb 27 – Concept EV2 also making its debut

On February 27, Kia will introduce three new vehicles during its EV Day event that will take place at the Tarraco Arena in Tarragona, Spain. Set to make their debuts are production version of two concepts that the company presented in 2024, along with a fresh new concept.

To start, there’s the EV4, which was previewed by the Concept EV4 at last year’s EV Day. Based on the teasers provided, the production version doesn’t appear to stray too far away from the show car and will showcase the brand’s Opposites United design philosophy.

The EV4 will take on other electric vehicles (EVs) like the Tesla Model # and Volkswagen ID.3, with Autocar reporting that it will be offered in hatchback and fastback body styles. The EV4 is said to use same E-GMP platform with an 800V architecture as Kia’s existing EVs and expected to share powertrains with the EV3.

As a recap, the EV3 is offered with either a 58.3- or 81.4-kWh battery, both powering a front-mounted electric motor rated at 204 PS (201 hp or 150 kW) and 283 Nm of torque – the larger battery allows for up to 600 km of range following the WLTP standard.

Next up, we have the PV5 van that was previewed by a similarly named concept at last year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES). It is part of a range of electric commercial vehicles planned by Kia, with others being the PV1, PV3 and PV7.

Last but not least, we have the Concept EV2 that previews a small crossover, at least based on the teasers. Plastic body cladding, faux skid plates, 3D-effect taillights, a contrasting black roof and a vertical lighting units at the front are just come of the cues we can make out.
